      Meeting chaired by Brian Bunting, of Inkululeko Publications, with participants Wally Serote, Ngugi [Matyanga], Francis Meli, Mandla Langa, and Isaac [Pahad]. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the role of culture as an aid in the liberation struggle. 4/10/87

  • MCA 21: ILLUMINATIONS (TELEVISION) LTD

    Series of DAT tapes deposited at the Mayibuye Centre by Illuminations (Television) Ltd in London, United Kingdom, probably in 1995. The recordings relate to a television documentary produced by Channel 4 and Illuminations in 1994 entitled “Winds of Change: A Journey through the Archives of Drum Magazine.” The interviews, which were conducted by Ingrid Gavshon for the BBC in 1993, focus on the social and cultural life of South Africans living under apartheid in the 1950s and 1960s.
